The interviews went pretty well and were pretty standard. There was a phone screen, then an interview with the BD manager, and finally an interview with the VP of sales and BD. Everything was done over Teams and all the interviews happened within about a week.

I had a really good time interviewing with GMS. It began with a quick recruiter screen, then a virtual interview with an RVP, followed by a few hours in the office meeting the team, and then a final virtual chat with the higher-ups. The whole process was pretty simple and honest, and they were really clear about what the job would be like and what needed to be done. It felt more like a conversation, and they were trying to see if the role was a good fit for me just as much as I was trying to see if it was a good fit for them. They were super open about why they were hiring for this role, the current situation in the office, and their goals, which was really helpful. Most of the questions were about personality, behavior, and different situations, and they were all related to what this specific office needed. The base pay was a bit lower than what's typical in my area, but the job had a long-term payout that grew over a few years. I didn't get the job because I would have needed to be at the top of their base pay range, and I have a SAAS background, but they seem to prefer candidates with experience in third-party HR and benefits management.

It was unprofessional. I had a phone screen and then they quickly scheduled an in person interview, which was quite a commute for me. I arrived on time, only to see another candidate as I was going in, which was super unprofessional. The interview dragged on and felt more like a chat about unrelated topics. The interviewer spent the first 5-10 minutes discussing personal issues before we even started the actual interview. After that, I never heard back from them, completely ghosted. So unprofessional.

I got a call and screened for the first interview. Then I had a skype interview that went well. After that, I scheduled a face-to-face interview with a local manager. They emailed me applications to fill out, but then they called and canceled the interview because I smoke. It was strange because they asked about driving and vehicle history on the application, and I didn't realize they were a tobacco-free company. The manager said I wasn't eligible for employment. It sucked because they should have asked me that in the first interview instead of wasting my time. I was really excited about the opportunity. They mentioned the average salary with commission was between $60k-$80k in the first year and $80k-$100k after.
