The interview process at Great Minds took about a month from start to finish. It began with a 30-minute recruiter chat with Evan, who was very professional. Then, I had a 30-minute interview with the hiring manager, and soon after, an interview with a scientist. The final round was a panel interview with two team members. They took about two weeks to make a decision after my last interview because I was one of the first candidates. Evan kept me updated weekly, gave clear timelines, and let me know when to expect a decision. His communication made the experience positive.

Behavioral Presentation

The interview process was pretty fast, under a month. First, there was a phone screen with a recruiter, and they invited me to do a video task. This task involved a mock coaching conversation with a teacher. After that, I had a final interview with two associate directors. The recruiter kept me updated, even when there wasn't much news. The outcome was that the role's needs changed, and it went to someone in a different region, but the recruiter said I could reach out if the need arises in my region. Even though I didn't get the job, I really liked how communicative and open they were.

So, I got referred and applied online with some short answer questions in early October. Mid-October, I had a phone screen with the recruiter, and then had to submit a 5-minute coaching video a couple days later. I followed up with the recruiter about the video and heard back 18 days later for the final interview over Zoom with two hiring managers. They said I'd hear back in a couple weeks, so I followed up twice. Finally, the recruiter called me 31 days later.

Behavioral Other

The interview process was a bit different than the normal and one I'd say that is not helpful. You have an initial screener interview with HR. Then they pass you over to another HR group for a second screener. If you make it past those two rounds and the hiring manager or team has interest, they will then give you a task to complete. The screener interviews are not necessarily job-specific and as a potential candidate, don't allow you to really ask detailed questions about the job. The task is very impersonal and one anyone could complete which would make it very challenging to assess anyone's ability other than putting text in a presentation. I received no feedback as to why I was not invited to continue in the interview process. Very cold and impersonal. Not the best way to conduct interviews.
