First, there was a recruiter alignment call, which was pretty basic, just asking why Govli. Then a virtual behavioral interview, where they asked some resume questions and mostly focused on cultural fit, and I also got to ask them a bunch of questions. After that, I had an in-person day with 5 interviews: 2 tech, 2 culture, and 1 with the CTO. The tech interviews involved some ambiguous problem-solving. Everyone was really nice and friendly. I enjoyed the process.

Technical Behavioral Case Presentation

The interview process had 7 interviews in total. It started with a recruiter phone screen, followed by a technical interview over Zoom. Then, there was a half-day on-site interview. This on-site included a skills assessment, a personality test, two technical interviews, two values interviews, and a meeting with the CEO. The whole thing took about 5 weeks from applying to getting rejected. Even though it was a bit long, I really liked most of the people I interviewed with. They were all really friendly and seemed great at their jobs. But, after the half-day on-site, I got a generic rejection email. I asked for feedback a few times, and they finally told me I didn't have enough experience, and for reasons I already told them about before they even asked me to come on-site. It's kind of funny because their product and company are all about making things efficient, and they kept saying how busy they were, but this whole recruitment process felt like a waste of everyone's time and resources, especially since the role didn't even require that many years of experience.

Behavioral Technical

First up was a recruiter call where they talked about the company and role, emphasizing it was full-time onsite and kinda shut down questions about flexibility. No real comp info, just vague stuff. Then, the hiring manager call was a repeat of the company/role overview, no technical dive or in-depth role discussion. They did mention needing to hire fast and guessed comp at $80K-$90K. I was told more onsite interviews were coming, or maybe an onsite with a tech challenge (which sounded weird, like doing it live in front of someone?) followed by leadership interviews. Got a generic rejection email a week later, saying they found someone who was a better fit. Ironically, they hired a contractor from a different time zone, even though they were so strict about the onsite requirement earlier. Definitely felt like they weren't serious or on the same page internally. Sharing this so others don't waste their time.

Behavioral Technical

I was first reached out to by an external recruiter. Then I had a 1-hour chat with the Hiring Manager. After that, I came in for an onsite interview. The onsite was about 6 hours long and had a bunch of interviews back to back. The company really stressed that they have a hard-working culture with long hours and a lot of travel. I have two main things to say: 1. I had to really push to get an interview set up and to get info about the role. 2. They probably should have had another step to filter people out, because I got a lot of feedback about my experience that might have been a problem from the start.
