First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Gordon & Rees.
Associate
The interview process was really simple and not hard at all. They mainly wanted to get a general idea of your background and see if you'd be a good fit for the firm. They also asked about which area you're interested in since the firm has several different ones.
- Can you tell me about your experience level?
- What prompted your departure from your last role?
- Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
Attorney
I had an initial screener with an admin assistant, then I interviewed with some of the partners. Some partners were on holiday so I had a second interview with them. I'm unhappy with the firm because they advertised for the commercial litigation group but interviewed me for the general liability group. They weren't very open about things during the process.
- What is prompting your job search?
Associate Attorney
They asked about specifics from my resume and job duties. Covered 'tell me about yourself,' 'why leaving your other job,' and 'what are you looking for here that you didn't have at your last firm.' Also posed a hypothetical situation and asked how I would handle it.
- What litigation experience do you have?
- Can you tell me about your litigation experience?
- Describe your experience with litigation.
Paralegal
After submitting my resume, I was contacted via email for an in-person interview with the office admin. She promptly emailed again to arrange a subsequent in-person interview with an attorney. Both interviews felt professional yet more relaxed than others I've experienced. The people were incredibly kind and welcoming! Following the attorney interview on Friday, I got an offer by email on Monday. The entire process was efficient and very professional.
- Can you describe yourself in three words?
- What do you think others would say about you?
