It was nice, I liked it, the interviewer was nice and I thought that it was personally not bad at all because the interviewer was nice, but this might be different if you have a different interviewer.

It was for a junior role so the interview mainly focused on university coursework experience, some basic questions about critical thinking, problem solving, willingness to learn and interests. It was one call with two senior people at the company.

Behavioral Technical

I applied on their website and two weeks later, they asked me to submit a recorded video interview. Some of the questions in the recording were okay, but I felt that the yes/no questions didn't really need to be recorded. After about a month of no response, I assumed I wasn't selected. However, HR then emailed me about scheduling a virtual interview on Teams. I provided my availability, but then another two weeks went by with no contact. I sent a follow-up email after another two weeks, and still no response. It's strange they keep posting the same job on LinkedIn while leaving candidates in limbo. The whole process took an extremely long time and felt very unprofessional.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

I applied on the Golden website and mentioned I had a referral. About two weeks later, I got an email for a digital interview. I had a week to complete it, which was nice. I spent a few days getting ready since it was my first interview. I practiced basic questions, read Glassdoor reviews, and checked out the company website. For the interview, I wore a white blouse and talked to my webcam, which was stressful because I couldn't see the interviewer's reactions and found it hard to make eye contact. But my prep paid off, and I got invited to a second interview. I spent another week studying technical stuff for the role. I didn't have all the experience they asked for, so I was hoping to impress them with my fast learning and eagerness. For the second interview, I wore a white blouse again. The interviewers were dressed casually. There were supposed to be three senior geochemists, but one couldn't make it. They asked a lot of technical questions. I prepared a 7-minute presentation about my background, which they seemed to like. They were pretty positive, and I thought I might get an offer. After the interview, they asked for references, and HR did a background check. Sadly, I never heard back, not even an email saying I wasn't selected. Just silence. Hope this helps you land your dream job!
