Sales Associate
The GNC interview process is pretty simple and looks for customer service, sales skills, and product know-how. You apply online or in person, and then usually the store manager calls you in for an interview that's like 15-30 mins. They'll probably ask about your sales background, if you're into health and fitness, and how you'd talk to customers. Sometimes, especially for bigger jobs, you might have another interview with a district manager. They really care about enthusiasm, talking well, and wanting to learn about their products. If you do well, you'll get an offer in a few days and then they'll train you on products, helping customers, and how the store works.
- Describe how you would assist a customer in selecting the appropriate supplement based on their individual objectives.
- How would you guide a customer to pick out the best supplement for what they want to achieve?
Administrative Apprentice
The interview stages are quite straightforward, starting with a simple HR interview to get to know the candidate better. Afterward, there's a writing test where you have to talk about yourself or how to achieve the best customer satisfaction (KM). Finally, there's an interview with the store manager.
- What are your strengths and weaknesses? What is your vision for the next 5/10 years?
- Discuss yourself
- How to deliver the best customer experience (KM) for clients
Product Development
I had 1 screen phone call with talent, then 1 phone interview (45 mins) with the hiring manager. After that, there were 2 team interviews (45 mins) with directors, followed by a panel of 4 separate 30 min interviews with managers/directors from different departments. I was told the panel interview was the final stage, and I reached out after that, but I was ghosted. I sent multiple emails and made phone calls trying to get some feedback, but I still haven't heard back. It's been over 6 months.
- Can you share an instance where you had a disagreement with a colleague and how you managed that situation?
Sales Manager
I had an initial screening with the Regional Manager at GNC, which lasted for about 30 minutes. He gave me a good rundown of what the job entailed and the skills needed. I liked how clear and organized the process was. But, the Regional Manager did most of the talking and didn't seem to listen much. I got the vibe that his self-centered nature might make it hard for him to actually get to know a candidate. He talked up his own achievements instead of asking about my background and what I bring to the table. I sent a thank-you email within 24 hours and another follow-up a week later about my application status, but never heard back. So, while the interview itself was structured, the silence afterwards left me wondering where things stood with my application.
- What are your strategies for managing a remote team?
- How do you exert influence over your team?
