Applied online for store manager, but the process was a huge waste of time and ended up not even being for that position. About a week after applying, I got a call to go to a store that was 30 minutes away from the one I applied to. When I got there, there were already 15 other people waiting outside the store, and the manager just called people in randomly instead of using a sign-in sheet. After waiting 45 minutes, I finally got into the first interview. There were three interviews back-to-back in the back room, with 15-20 minute waits in between each. The last interviewer told me the job was actually for a sales associate, though they mentioned I could move up fast. They were paying minimum wage.

I was contacted by a regional manager who found my resume on a job board. They offered me an interview at a store close by. I did let the regional manager know I was interviewing for other jobs that week, which might have impacted the compensation offer, as it was borderline and less than my last job. However, no overtime was required, and the short commute, along with the hiring manager being upfront about expectations and seeming fair, persuaded me to accept the position with GNC.

It was pretty straightforward, first two managers asked basic questions about my background. Then the regional manager came for the second interview, and she was really focused on competitive sales, which I have experience in. When she asked about supplements, I said no, and explained that my background as a chef made me aware of my body's needs, so I didn't need them given my current health. That's when the interview ended.
