Manager
The interview process was a mess. It started with a phone interview, then I was asked for my availability for a series of video interviews. I gave them some dates, and then didn't hear back until two days before the interviews were scheduled. They set up 4 hours of interviews over two afternoons with seven people. Then I had an eighth interview the next day. I was told I'd get a decision by the end of the week. When I didn't hear anything, I followed up and was told the following week. Still nothing, so I waited and followed up again, and was told to wait another week. This went on for weeks. I finally followed up after three weeks of silence and was told they were onboarding someone else I might have to meet. I waited another three weeks with no response. Then I was told to just keep waiting. I followed up again after a few more weeks and was FINALLY told I didn't get the job because they hired someone else. I waited MONTHS for an answer, just to be strung along. It took over two months to get a decision or realize they weren't filling the position. I don't blame HR or the interviewers; it seems like a company-wide issue where nobody has the authority to make a decision. Maybe it's good I didn't get the job if this is how the company operates.
- I was asked so many questions over meeting with eight people, I can't even remember all of them.
Assistant Manager
The interview process was easy, with basic questions about my background, interests, and salary. I met the District Manager at the store for a 1-on-1 interview. After that, I had a phone call with the Area Manager.
- Can you describe your understanding of health, fitness, and our products?
- How do you approach converting product knowledge into a sales pitch?
- What is your strategy for creating product stacks that align with customer objectives?
Manager
It started with a paper application. The interview process is mainly sales-focused, and while product knowledge isn't strictly required, it's definitely a plus. They really value strong business acumen. They asked about my time management and scheduling abilities. Being familiar with planograms and store merchandising is also important.
- What's your level of product knowledge?
- How familiar are you with planograms and store merchandising?
- Can you tell me about your time management and scheduling skills?
