First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Global Atlantic.
Business Partner
This was a really long and inefficient hiring process, took about 2 months and had around 10 interviews for a mid-level role. It felt like they had trouble making decisions and managing their time. I mostly talked to stakeholders and the hiring manager. A lot of the interviewers were late. The questions were repetitive, mostly 'talk me through your experience' and 'why do you want this role'. The recruiter was 15 minutes late for my 30 minute call, asked about a company I never worked at, and then told me the hiring manager thought other candidates had more experience. Plus, I always had to ask for updates, they never gave them proactively. The hiring manager had a bias about my past work and wouldn't move past their assumptions, even after I addressed it multiple times.
- I didn't look at your resume beforehand, could you walk me through your background?
Quantitative Analyst Intern
It was a really simple process, first they looked at my resume, then asked some basic math and finance questions, along with some basic Python and machine learning questions. Everything was pretty straightforward and covered well-known concepts, nothing too programming-heavy like LeetCode style questions. The finance questions were mostly about bonds.
- Can you explain what a class is in Python?
Investment Analyst
I applied online and then got scheduled for interviews. First, there was a round with HR to talk about sponsorship and some basic behavioral questions. After that, I had a Super Day where I met with four people from the investment team, covering four different sub-verticals.
- Can you tell me why you are interested in GA?
- We'd like to grill you on your resume.
- What motivates your interest in investment?
Reinsurance Deal Strategist
The interview process was the worst I've ever been through. The first call with HR was fine, and the recruiter was nice. Then on super day, I met two people from the Reinsurance team. The first person seemed really off-putting and like she didn't want to talk to me. She asked a bunch of random, super technical questions, and I felt like she was deliberately trying to make it hard. The second person was okay but seemed like he wanted to wrap things up fast. I don't think Global Atlantic can offer great client service with that kind of attitude.
