Machine Learning Engineer
So the interview process started with a recruiter screening call for the Machine Learning Engineer II role. We talked about my ML background, past projects, and the technical stuff they needed for the job at Glidewell. It was basically to see if I was a good fit before the more technical parts.
- Can you introduce yourself and elaborate on your experience?
Manufacturing Engineer
The interview was pretty basic, mostly behavioral and experience-based questions, lasting about 30 minutes. Since it's an entry-level role, the interview was fairly easy. Both the Manager and Supervisor interviewed me at the same time.
- Can you describe a time you had a conflict with a colleague or teammate and explain how you resolved it?
Desktop Systems Analyst
This was honestly the most ridiculous and drawn-out interview process I've ever been through for a help desk role. I've done a lot of interviews, so I know how these things usually go, but this was just too much. They had me do 4 interviews plus a timed in-person test. First was the HR intro call, pretty standard stuff about the role. Then I met the help desk manager and a tech, which was fine, they asked some scenario questions. Interview 3 was with the IT manager of services, again with scenarios and questions about my background; it seemed to go well, and he even said I might be a good fit. I figured that was it, but nope, they called me back for another interview and an in-person test. I was already talking to other companies, and one even said it was weird they had so many steps for this kind of job. The in-person part started with a timed math test, which they said wouldn't count but was just company tradition. After that, I went to a conference room with the IT manager from before and 4 other technicians. They gave me a 20-minute timed test to set up an RDP connection, ping between two laptops, and get them internet access. I finished it, maybe 5-7 minutes over the time limit, but having everyone watch me felt really intense. The vibe in the room was tense, even the techs seemed nervous with the manager there. It made me feel like if I got the job, I'd be micromanaged. They called later to say no because I went over on the test time, which honestly, I was happy about. I got a better offer elsewhere that paid more and respected my time. The only good part was the HR rep who was really nice.
- Can you share an instance where you disagreed with a coworker and how you resolved it?
- Describe your process for troubleshooting a user's inability to access company resources on their work device.
Director of Engineering
So first we had a chat where they told me about the company and the job. It's about leading a small team but also getting hands-on with the tech stuff. The recruiter mentioned the company's mission, how the team is set up, and some main issues the role needs to tackle.
- Did they ask if you can balance leading and doing deep technical work, including hands-on problem-solving?
