First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Giant Eagle.
Cashier
It was pretty easy, they just want you to be yourself. They are looking for someone who can thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage busy rushes. The whole process took about a week. It was an in-person interview, and then they called me back.
- Can you walk me through a customer scenario you've encountered?
- Tell me about a time you had to deal with a challenging customer situation.
Team Member
The application was easy to fill out online and I got a call back within a day or so. The interviewer was nice and friendly, making it feel comfortable and easy. They spent a good amount of time explaining the company culture and the union benefits.
- Can you discuss your previous work experience and how you've managed teams?
Analyst
The interview process was pretty good and organized. It kicked off with a phone call where the recruiter gave me the lowdown on the job, asked about my past experiences, and checked my salary expectations. After that, I had a technical/functional interview with the hiring manager. They hit me with some scenario-based questions about how I would tackle job challenges and we also dove deep into my previous projects. The interviewer was nice but asked some tough questions to really test my knowledge.
- Can you discuss your resume and work experience?
Recruiter
Applied, recruiter set up a virtual chat, I did the interview and I had all the qualifications/skills/experience/education. The only thing I can think of is that my salary expectations were "too high." But I wouldn't know cuz I never heard back from them after 3 attempts to reach out. They couldn't even be bothered to send a rejection, they just completely ghosted me. Super unprofessional.
