First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Gainsight.
Director, Customer Success
After an initial screening, Vista requires candidates to complete a Criteria Cognitive Aptitude Test and a personality test. A presentation was also part of the process. I found the process to be fair and quick. I met with the recruiter, a team member, the hiring manager, and the CEO. This was during a period of significant change, so some of the people I interviewed with were actually leaving, which presented some challenges.

Product Marketing Manager
So the interview process was pretty normal. I almost bailed but the recruiter talked me into giving Gainsight a shot even if the pay was kinda low. First, I had a phone screen with the recruiter, and then they set up an interview with the hiring manager (T). Honestly, the interview was just okay. Standard PMM questions about sales enablement, competitive intelligence, stuff like that. This was on Dec 2nd. It's now Jan 7th, 2025, and I haven't heard anything back since that interview. It's really unprofessional to just ghost candidates, I mean I don't do that, I'm professional and expect the same.
- Can you tell me about your experience with creating sales enablement materials for sales teams?
Product Manager
I had a short call with the recruiter, and then the first interview was with the hiring manager. The recruiter made it very difficult to schedule, and the interview itself was also very poor. In the end, I got no feedback and just a standard rejection email. The whole process was bad and showed a lack of respect. I don't recommend this company, you can expect similar quality if you get hired.
- Do you have experience with B2B SaaS?
Human Resources Business Partner
I talked to a recruiter first, and they mentioned the next step was a cognitive and personality test, which they said was a requirement from the private equity firm that owns the company. Then I had a chat with the hiring manager, and it seemed to go well. After that, I didn't hear back from them, despite sending two follow-up emails to the recruiter. It was pretty disappointing because I put a lot of time into researching Gainsight and getting ready for the assessment and interviews, only to not even get a rejection email.
- How would you respond to the assertion that HR's primary role is to protect the company?
