The first interview, which could be in person or virtual, might be with the hiring manager or someone from HR. They'll likely want to know more about your background, see how much you know about foreign exchange markets, if you're good at managing accounts, and if you know Corpay's stuff. They might also give you some scenarios or case studies to work through for the role.

Started with a screening call with a really professional and nice HR person. Then went through three one-hour interviews. Two were one-on-one, and one was a group interview with people from the department. It was a bit of a red flag though, they wouldn't give any info on salary, saying there was no banding. When I pressed, the hiring manager mentioned a number the salary would likely be over, but admitted the company hadn't really considered the salary. It's pretty wild to spend three and a half hours interviewing when the company hasn't figured out the salary.

There were 2 rounds of interviews for this position: a video call and a phone interview. The interviewers were primarily interested in my motivation to do well in the role. Since I mentioned applying to other firms, they probed if I was sure about wanting this specific job. The questions were straightforward, probing my past experiences from school and work. They emphasized that showing enjoyment for a back-office environment and a desire for a long-term operations career significantly increases the chances of getting the job. They did ask about FX knowledge, but I felt it wasn't crucial to the role; it's a bonus if you know it, but not essential.

Confirmed questions2 questions
  • Would you prefer a team that provides clear instructions or one that encourages independent thought and creativity?
  • Do you work better with outgoing and lively colleagues, or with those who are more reserved and focused?
