Customer Service Representative
So first I met one of the managers at a school presentation and gave them my resume. Then I had a quick 15-20 min phone interview where they asked basic stuff like what I read, where I get my news, and my investment experience. After that, I went to their San Francisco office for an interview with the same manager. I also spoke with someone from Dallas via a teleconference monitor. It wasn't really technical, mostly about current events and the global economy, and a lot of behavioral questions about teamwork, initiative, and communication. The whole thing took about 1 1/2 hours. The office was nice and the coworkers seemed really friendly. I even met a couple of them after the interview. I liked the process because it was fast and everyone was welcoming.
- Can you tell me about the current global economy?
- What aspects of a job do you dislike?
- Describe a time you successfully persuaded someone.
Customer Service Representative
The interview started with a group session where four candidates, including myself, were asked to introduce ourselves in Mandarin. Then, we had to discuss in English what makes customer service successful. Following that, I had a one-on-one with HR and a trading assistant. They asked me questions in Cantonese about why Forex trading is preferable to stocks today. I was also asked some behavioral questions. Next, I interviewed with the MD. She asked similar behavioral questions and also inquired about how FXCM attracts corporate clients like HSBC, which I wasn't sure about. A week later, I was invited back for the final interview. Before that, there was a typing test in either simplified or traditional Chinese. The final interview also involved behavioral questions, as well as queries about the forex market, reasons for using the FXCM platform, and their competitors.

Customer Service Representative
I applied to FXCM online and a few days later got an email to set up an interview. The phone interview was pretty basic, asking me questions about my resume, and my interest in FXCM and the foreign exchange market. I thought it went well, but a few days later got an email saying they decided to go with other candidates.
- What about FXCM's business interests you?
