First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at FreeWheel.
Senior Account Executive
The job was posted on LinkedIn. First, there was a screening interview with the talent acquisition manager (HR). Then, there were three 'business' interviews with different team members. Finally, there was a case study to present.

- Tell me about a time you completed a successful project.
Programmatic Account Manager
The TA reached out to me on LinkedIn. I interviewed for two roles: Programmatic Account Manager and Account Manager. I felt I did well in both. The Executive Director said I could pick any team I wanted at Freewheel. This is the second time I've been told I don't have an opportunity. I wish I hadn't done the second interview, as it felt like a waste of time. I've filed an EEOC complaint due to potential discrimination. I believe I'm overqualified and my race was a factor. Be cautious, you might just be an interview filler. I interviewed with Freewheel/Comcast from June 16, 2022, to August 1, 2022, which felt like a waste of my time and energy.
- Can you explain what DSP and SSP are in the context of this role?
Software Engineer
Had a good initial screening with HR and the hiring manager, they talked about the role and team structure. Then I had a final round interview. The first interview was good, we introduced ourselves and then jumped into coding questions. The next interview was disorganized and rude, the interviewer didn't know my status and asked about prior interviews. I thought it would be similar and brief to get to coding, but we spent 40 minutes discussing a technology I barely know. The interviewer wouldn't accept my explanation and kept talking about it. With 15 minutes left, we started a python question. I solved it in <5 minutes. He asked for another implementation but missed crucial info needed for the variation. This interview was a waste of time. I wouldn't want to work here. They should ensure interviewers know candidate skill sets and backgrounds for final rounds. I was also told I'd be tested on SQL and didn't get any questions.
- Can you discuss RDDs and explain the inner workings of Hadoop?
- Tell me about your experience with RDDs and how Hadoop operates.
- Discuss RDDs and how Hadoop works under the hood.
Support Engineer
The interview process involved four stages, starting with an initial phone call from the recruiter. Following that, I had interviews with the hiring manager, a support lead, and some senior team members. They were very accommodating with my questions and effectively described the role and company culture. The most challenging part was the final interview, which included a presentation on a subject unfamiliar to me. The team present during the presentation was supportive and understanding. Overall, I had a very positive impression of the team, their passion for their work was evident and made me eager to get an offer.
