The interview process had some odd questions, like asking which Fox anchors/reporters you follow, which seemed like they were checking if you're conservative or a big enough fan to work there. The recruiter was also rude and short, showing up 10 minutes late to our call. The writing test was a joke, asking questions that required you to know facts about DEI in companies and the Biden administration's antitrust stance. My advice is to at least seem interested in reporting the news, as this isn't an opinion-based role.

Had a hiring manager screen and a VP screen. The interviewers didn't have mainstream tech backgrounds (like Google or Meta) and were mostly from media. They mainly asked about behavioral examples and past projects, not really testing product management skills like design, prioritization, or analytics. It felt like they might be looking for people with similar media backgrounds. The lack of depth in their experience was mirrored in the interview, which seemed focused on navigating conservative content strategy.

I got to the initial phone interview stage for this role. It was truly the worst job experience I've ever had in my career in news/broadcasting. The recruiter was 10 minutes late to call. She asked about my experience and then probed my familiarity with the specific program I was applying for and other Fox programs. When my answers weren't satisfactory, she became really rude and judgmental. Instead of concluding the call, she started reprimanding me for not being up-to-date on Fox News current events, not knowing all the anchors, or not knowing everyone in government. This was despite me being a person who gets news from various sources and has a life outside of news 24/7. The recruiter's tone was so unpleasant and reflected very poorly on the company. This will be the first and last time I apply here.
