Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at FOX News.

I got a call about 3 days after I applied. It started with a phone screener and then I had a Zoom chat with the hiring manager. They seemed to care a lot about fit, asking about my experience and what I can do. It was all pretty standard stuff for how these things usually go.
- What makes you the right candidate for this job?
Editor
Applied online and heard back from a recruiter about three weeks later. The recruiter's attitude was pretty condescending from the start. They'd only call if I could answer questions about my favorite Fox anchors and who I followed on social media. They didn't ask me anything about my actual skills. The recruiter also forgot what job we were even talking about midway through. I ended up having two more rounds after that. It wasn't a great experience.
- Can you name your favorite anchors at Fox?
- Who are some people you follow on social media?
Journalist
If you have experience and qualifications, the process is pretty straightforward. It's direct and to the point, with no beating around the bush. The managers are busy. There are usually several candidates, so you need to know your stuff. They take their time filling openings because they want to make sure you're a good fit for the Fox "family."
- Are you aware of the job's demands and ready to meet them?
