First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Form3.
Platform Engineer
First, there was an HR chat where they asked about my background and told me about the company. Then, I had a take-home Terraform task to refactor some code and achieve specific results. Finally, a technical interview happened which was split into three parts: reviewing my Terraform code, discussing cloud networking on a whiteboard, and tackling a system design question.
- Questions about how the Terraform code is organized and structured.
- Discussion about hybrid cloud networking models and configurations.
- Troubleshooting AWS networking issues and proposing solutions.
Information Security Officer
The interview process with Form3 had several stages, beginning with a recruiter interview. While the initial impression of the recruitment team and company was good, it deteriorated due to poor communication and ghosting. This was followed by a team interview with the hiring manager, a cultural interview with a current team member, and a final interview with a leader. The final interview was the most technically demanding, resembling a mini CISSP review covering various topics in detail. The cultural interview was less structured, often going off-topic and not providing much insight into the team. Despite consistently receiving positive feedback and clearly stating salary expectations early on, the offer was significantly below market rates and prior discussions. When this was raised, I was told they would consult HR, after which there was silence for weeks. Multiple follow-ups with involved parties yielded no response. It's disappointing to be treated this way after investing several hours in the process, especially when fundamental issues like salary were communicated upfront. If ghosting candidates post-offer is acceptable, it's concerning how others are treated. The fact the role is still being advertised suggests a need to review recruitment practices and market rates.

Senior Software Engineer
It was a really well-organized interview process. First, a recruiter call, then an offline coding task, and finally three 30-minute interviews with the engineering team, all within a 1.5-hour block. They're pretty open about technology, so even if you're not a Go expert, they're fine as long as you know OOP. It was a friendly, low-stress vibe. They even encouraged me to learn Go at my own pace before the coding exercise and kept in touch to check my interest without being pushy. The coding exercise was relevant, asking me to build an http client library for their payment API. The engineering interviews let me learn about their architecture, design a distributed system, and even debug a simulated production issue like a game. They gave feedback pretty quickly too, within 48 hours.
- Coding exercise in Go: build an http client library using the Form3 API.
- Form3 business/tech overview and related questions; discussion on the rationale behind the chosen approach.
- Role-playing game to debug/investigate a live production issue in Form3 systems.

The hiring process was really smooth from beginning to end. Everyone I met was super friendly and talked so passionately about FORM3, which is fantastic from a candidate's point of view. The Talent Partner I worked with was awesome! They consistently kept me informed about the process progress and what to expect next. Dealing with them was a genuine pleasure and really says a lot about FORM3! The overall process included: an initial screening call with HR (30-45mins), a second stage interview focusing on competencies (30-45mins), a third stage interview covering competencies and values (30mins), and a final interview with the CFO (30 mins).

- Could you share an example that demonstrates your competencies?
