First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Floor & Decor.
Front End Cashier/Floor Associate
I had a reference from someone in the company. I went in for the job interview. He told me it was going to be a three-part interview, but since everyone who was supposed to be interviewing me was there that day and I passed the first part of the interview with him, the whole interview lasted about an hour.
- How have you overcome conflict in past work experiences?
Sales Specialist
The interview process was pretty simple and honest. The CEM was clear on what they were looking for. They emphasized the importance of working together. Also, keeping customers and safety first is key. And being able to communicate well is also important.
- What are your initial actions when faced with a challenging task?
Vice President
I had a phone screening with HR where we discussed the job specifics. Then, I spoke with an executive over the phone about the role and any questions I still had. After that, I went into the office to meet the executive in person. I also met with my potential direct reports and some cross-functional teammates. A couple weeks later, there were more interviews where I met another exec and discussed store operations. The whole process took about FOUR MONTHS. I never got an official rejection; I only found out because I saw someone else's profile updated for the role. Nobody from HR ever got back to me. I'm glad I didn't get hired there.
- Could you describe your management approach?
Senior Accountant
The interview process involved 3 distinct rounds. Initially, there was a virtual meeting with the direct manager. Following that, an on-site visit for the second round included one-on-one meetings with the manager and two team members. The final round was a video conference with an executive leader. While technical skills are important, the company culture fit is a major consideration during hiring.
- How do you handle situations where you have multiple, conflicting priorities?
