Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Floor & Decor.
Sales Associate
I went through a group interview with 10 other applicants for the role. Three managers interviewed us all at once. The vibe was super chill and comfy, mostly because the managers turned it into a group chat rather than a formal interview.
- Can you share an instance where you dealt with a challenging customer situation?
Sales Associate
The interview process was totally unprofessional. The manager I was supposed to meet was on a break when I arrived, so a department manager interviewed me instead. The information about the job opportunities, pay, and full-time employment I'd discussed with the recruiter was different from what was presented in the in-person interview. I was told no one can be given full-time employment when starting. When I tried to clarify my confusion with the interviewer, he just shrugged me off and said I was wrong.
- Tell me about your past salary range.
Sales Associate
You meet with the CEM of the store for about 30 minutes. The interview covers your strengths and personality. The setting is a warehouse. After the interview, they give you a tour of the store and introduce you to the different departments and managers. This is part of your interview.
- What's a goal you'd like to achieve in the next year?
