My interview at Floor and Decor went pretty well. The interview setting was in a quiet, professional place, and I felt comfortable the whole time. They asked me typical questions about my past work experience that would be relevant to the job if I got hired. They also asked some personal questions like why I thought I was a good fit for Floor and Decor and why I wanted to work there. The questions they asked required me to be honest and think on my feet about how I'd handle possible situations, which might or might not involve customers. The employer also requires a background check and drug screening.

I talked with the assistant manager for about half an hour. He really liked me and introduced me to the Store Manager. We talked for another 30 minutes about my 10 years working for a competitor. It was a really nice and positive chat. The Store Manager asked about salary, and we discussed what was feasible. He mentioned he'd need 2-3 days to finalize things. I followed up multiple times over the next 7 weeks by phone and in person, but I never heard back from him.

Informal interview. Asked very few formal questions, about 5. Most of the interview was a conversation. Then they did a second interview which was just a conversation with the store manager asking about past work history. Then got hired on. Did background and drug test. Took about a week.
