First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Fidelity National Financial.
Lead Engineer
It was a two-round interview process, and everything was conducted virtually. The questions were pretty average, focusing on situational scenarios and asking about project details. There were also some SQL queries to handle, specifically involving window functions and similar concepts.
- Can you tell me about your experience with Databricks?
- What is your experience with Azure DevOps?
- We're going to ask some SQL questions, particularly around window functions.
Software Engineer
The interview kicked off with an introduction. Then, we dove into OOPs concepts, specifically the four main pillars, and I was asked about interfaces and abstract classes. After that, we moved on to DSA topics like stacks, queues, and heaps. I had to write code for prime numbers and reversing a string. Then came DBMS, covering joins, inserting values, and deleting values. Finally, the interviewer asked if I had any knowledge of C# and ASP.NET, and requested a simple C# code snippet.
- Can you tell me what you know about Object-Oriented Programming and give examples of where these concepts are applied?
- What are the four pillars of OOPs and where are they used?
- What is an interface?
Systems Administrator
It was a nice and casual phone interview first, and then an in-person one. They asked basic help desk and support questions, about customer experience, and a couple of situational questions. I got an offer right at the interview.
- Can you tell me about your years of phone support and troubleshooting experience?
- What is your experience with basic help desk and support tasks?
- Describe your experience with customer interactions.
Information Security Analyst
It was a phone screening, then an interview with the hiring manager and another team member I wasn't expecting, then another interview with the hiring manager and the director. It all went pretty well, but I got rejected because I didn't know a couple of basic textbook definitions that weren't even in the job description. They said they don't have time to train people. It was for an entry-level position.
- Can you explain the difference between asymmetric and symmetric encryption?
