The process had 3 rounds. It started with an intro call, then a call with the hiring manager, and finally two interviews with potential supervisors which was 1 round. The first couple of rounds were pretty easy but the last round was more challenging with many follow-up questions.

The people I met were friendly. When I first applied, I assumed they used Java and the recruiter confirmed Java was primary. During the interview, nobody mentioned they didn't use Java. I didn't pass because I didn't prepare OOD and system design. I applied again recently, as they are a great delivery company in Texas, my dream company. I prepared a lot for OOD and system design. During the recruiter call this time, I found out they use PHP and are migrating to Kotlin. I was shocked and felt bad finding this out after all these years. I met with the manager to learn more about projects. I asked a lot about these topics, and the manager sensed it. I was rejected before the technical rounds I prepared for. I was willing to show my capabilities. I was relieved that it wasn't a good match. I hope they are honest about the tech stack, as some people are passionate about PHP and Kotlin. I accepted an offer for a Java position elsewhere.

I had an initial phone screen with one person, and then a follow-up interview with another. The first phone screen went well. However, during the actual interview, the interviewer seemed really uninterested. He'd ask questions and then look away, not making eye contact much during the 30 minutes on Zoom. The questions weren't very meaningful, and I'm not sure how I could have advanced given his apparent lack of interest. He also ended the interview abruptly without asking if I had any questions, just saying the hiring manager would be in touch about next steps. This was disappointing because I really like the company and have relevant experience, and the contrast with the positive phone screen was jarring. The next steps would have been a paid design challenge followed by an interview with the whole design team.

The interview process was pretty standard for this position. It started with a recruiter call to go over my background and the role in general. Then, I had a video interview with two hiring managers, which was mostly behavioral and focused on my past experiences. The final round was a panel interview with a mix of Engineering Managers, Product Managers, Engineers, and Directors. There was a bit of confusion during the panel, with some issues finding the right Zoom rooms. The interviews were heavily focused on behavioral aspects, particularly my management experience. Despite the conversations going well with everyone, I was surprisingly rejected without any feedback.
