European Central Bank Interview Questions
& Process

So I had this interview with two people from the Information Governance team. They asked me 3 questions in total, but those questions were like broken into parts. They wanted to know my thoughts on digitalization in central banks, how AI is being used, and how I'd explain/argue my point of view to people on my team who might not see eye-to-eye with me.

The interview process felt outdated and consisted of standard questions that weren't very relevant to the role. There were some behavioral questions and some related to previous experiences and skills. I would have preferred questions that were more tailored to a candidate's experience.

I submitted my application online with my CV and a statement of motivation. Two months later, I received a written exercise. Three weeks after that, I had an online interview with the team. The interview was challenging, not because the questions were inherently difficult, but because they asked 15 questions in just 30 minutes, putting pressure on the time limit. They didn't allow me to introduce myself and asked many repetitive questions.

The interview process included a pre-recorded interview with behavioral questions, followed by a live interview that had both behavioral and some simple technical questions. The technical questions were more open-ended than for other technical roles, meaning there wasn't a single correct answer. I was put on a waitlist and contacted multiple times for different roles that became available.
