Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at European Central Bank.
Graduate Trainee
It was a short 30 min interview, pretty structured. They asked CV and technical questions, and also some brief HR questions on behaviour. They also asked about previous experiences, my master thesis' topic and methodology, and programming languages and other skills.
- Can you tell us about yourself and why you want to work at ECB?
- What can you tell us about your previous experiences?
- Could you describe the topic and methodology of your master's thesis?
Graduate Trainee
The interviewers were really friendly. They asked me about my personal motivations and threw in a few technical questions, like how I handle bugs in code and my approach to dataset analysis. They also asked about my financial stability.
- Tell me why you want to work for ECB.
- What drives you?
- How do you handle code bugs?
Graduate Trainee
It was intense with a lot of questions. Three interviewers asking questions one by one. Half technical and half personal. A lot about ECB, what they do and how they do it, you really need to research the organisation beforehand.
- Could you list the various financial statements that ECB publishes?
