Had a phone call then one in-person interview for this job. It was a smooth process and they got back to me about the offer a week or two later. They asked for examples of relevant experience but the questions weren't too hard.

First, a quick 15 min chat with the recruiter. Then, the first round is a panel interview. It's 15 min for a presentation on a past project, followed by a 15 min behavioral interview. The second round is also a panel interview. This one has a 30 min Excel skills test and then a 15 min behavioral interview.

Behavioral Technical Case

So the process started with a phone chat with the recruiter for APAC, then a virtual interview, followed by a 1:1 with Senior Management, and then some psychometric testing and a final interview with the GM. The recruiter was great, really helpful. But the Manager I was supposed to report to seemed to lack empathy, and was just cold and dismissive. He acted arrogant and fake, like he was just putting on a show of what a manager should be. I think he saw me as a threat. His coworker, though, was really nice, engaging, and seemed genuinely interested. He led the conversation and really embodied what Ethicon should be all about, living up to the company credo. The other Manager wasn't being himself, seemed inconsistent and didn't have much personal influence. He was a bit awkward and couldn't connect with someone like me who has more professional experience. I let the recruiter know that I found the Manager unpleasant, unprofessional, and not genuine.

Confirmed questions1 question
  • You'll need to explain your work background and answer some situational questions along the way. This is a much easier and more relaxed way to interview than the typical STAR method. Also, if they push you to name any direct competitors, you can refuse to answer. Doing so would be highly unethical and unscrupulous, and I expect better from Ethicon.

The interview was conducted over Teams. They asked about 15-20 questions, mostly about my personality and how I handle different scenarios. Some questions were quite specific and might be hard for many people to answer, and they weren't necessarily work-related. The main focus was on my communication skills and who I am as a person.

Confirmed questions4 questions
  • How do you manage stress and meet deadlines?
  • Would you prioritize meeting deadlines over product quality, or vice versa?
  • Can you share an instance where you had a conflict with a colleague and how you resolved it?
