First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Equity Methods.
Valuation Consultant
Had about 4 interviews for this role, plus some cognitive and behavioral tests. The interviewing team was great and the company really made sure I got a good grasp of what they do, while also evaluating me. It's a niche role, so they ask a lot of questions to see if you can think critically and truly understand concepts. The people were great, the process had a lot of interviews but was fun.
- Can you explain your understanding of equity methods, what we do, and what this role entails to the best of your ability?
Financial Reporting Associate
There was a case interview for 60 minutes, followed by a 30-minute traditional interview. They asked questions about the pre-interview case, and then presented a similar case that wasn't pre-given. The interviewers were nice and not harsh. The point of the case interview is to see your understanding and how you learn.
- Were the optional articles read?
Extern
I applied online and the whole thing took about 2 weeks. First, there were 2 online tests, one called PI test and some brain teasers. Then, I had one virtual interview that lasted 20-25 minutes. It was pretty simple, they asked about my past work, if I knew about the company, and the externship itself.
- What motivates you to apply for this externship?
- Can you discuss your prior work experience?
Financial Reporting Analyst
The interview process can differ a lot based on the industry, company, and the specific job, but it usually follows a general structure. There's often a second round interview which usually has more detailed questions and could include meetings with senior staff or stakeholders. Sometimes it's a series of interviews on the same day. A separate round might focus on behavioral aspects, checking if your past behavior matches the company's culture and values. They might also contact your references to check your work history and get more details.
- Can you explain the various components of executive compensation in public companies, specifically focusing on equity awards?
- Can you give me an introduction?
