First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Equitable.
Intern
The interview process was straightforward, almost like an information session, and I received an offer immediately. They inquired about my background and education, and my availability. I expected a more rigorous process given the location in Manhattan.
- Can you tell me about your finance-related experience or any relevant coursework you've completed?
Financial Advisor
I applied online and got a call from them. They asked about my graduation and if I was interested in this role. We then set up a phone interview for the next week. I got an email confirming that the manager would call me at the scheduled time. But, the manager never called at the scheduled time. It's been two weeks, and they haven't reached out. Indeed confirmed they have moved on with their hiring process.
- Tell me about your upcoming graduation.
- What makes you interested in this type of role?
Senior Manager
I had multiple rounds of interviews, about 4-5 total, all done virtually. Each interview was around 30-40 minutes long. There weren't any exams, but I did interact with an HR coordinator. No in-person interviews were part of the process. The interviews were generally focused on my background and how it fit with what the role requires.
- Can you tell me about your background?
- Could you describe your experience in relation to the requirements of this position?
Business Analyst
First, I had a chat with the hiring manager, which was about seeing if I'd be a good fit and also getting into some technical details. Then, I interviewed with a senior leader, and we discussed the company's overall direction and future vision. Lastly, there was an interview with a peer, where I was asked general questions to get a better sense of the day-to-day responsibilities.
- Tell me about a situation where you had to manage conflicting priorities and explain your approach.
