Got an interview through an employee referral for Customer Support Specialist. 5 interviews total. 1 with recruiter, 1 with manager (basic questions, previous experience), 1 with tech lead (testing critical thinking and problem solving), 1 with culture ambassador, 1 with the co-founder. This was my first professional interview process, and honestly, it was the smoothest experience I could have imagined. I really appreciated their focus on how I'd fit into the role and the conversation about how they could help me achieve my professional goals. The final interview with the co-founder was a great touch; it made the whole process feel incredibly personal.

My interview experience with Elation Health was truly exceptional. The team was incredibly communicative, responsive, and flexible with scheduling. Every question I had was answered quickly and thoroughly, which helped me feel supported and informed throughout the process. One of the standout aspects for me was their focus on culture interviews. It was clear that Elation Health takes culture fit seriously, not just as a checkbox but as a meaningful part of hiring. This gave me a lot of confidence—not only in the process itself but also in the people I’d potentially be working with. Knowing that everyone on the team had gone through the same thoughtful and intentional process made it easy to imagine myself surrounded by qualified, aligned, and genuinely great colleagues. Overall, I walked away from the experience feeling energized and hopeful. The care and intention Elation Health puts into hiring speaks volumes about the company’s values and the kind of work environment they’ve cultivated.

The interview process started off pretty normal with a recruiter screen, which went pretty well. Well enough to get me to the next rounds. Note, the next rounds included 4 (yes four) separate interviews with the hiring manager, an SVP, a Director and a potential colleague. I felt that I did pretty well in each interview and sent a thank you email to the recruiter and hiring manager. After waiting a few weeks with no response, I followed up with both the hiring manager and recruiter to no avail. I sent a few more follow up emails and FINALLY received a response from the recruiter that the position was put on hold indefinitely. While I don't understand why an employer posts a position, interviews candidates for multiple rounds and then puts the position on hold...I guess a company's budget changes or the position no longer makes sense with the department, or whatever. HOWEVER, when you put an unemployed candidate through 5 rounds (including the recruiter screen), requiring hours of study and prep for the interview and then being "ghosted" is infuriating. Please do better!

I was contacted by a recruiter and they set up the first screening interview really fast. The first interview did start about half an hour late though. They also set up the second interview quickly after that. A follow-up interview was scheduled after the second one. The conversation went well, but I felt like the interviewer was really looking for a specific kind of experience that I don't have. Given how unique their product and business are, I think it's tough for many people to have that exact experience, even if they have similar decision-making skills, especially with a different software development method.
