The whole interview process was really great. Everyone I talked to seemed genuinely interested in listening and helping me out. It kicked off with an HR chat where they were super nice and explained all the details about the process, the company, and the team. Then I went through technical interviews covering both frontend and backend stuff. After that, I met with several managers, even the founder. They made sure to clearly let me know the next steps at each point, so I always knew what was coming up.

Started with a recruiter screen, then a technical interview with a basic coding challenge. After that, there was a virtual onsite which included system design, questions about PDFs, and questions about past coding experiences, along with some challenge questions. During the onsite, there was also time to ask questions to the recruiter, hiring manager, other managers, and team members.

It was a really weird interview. The engineering manager asked some questions about SQL and designing a function, which should have been easy. The interview was done in a Google Doc, which felt super awkward. I really think a good interviewer should make the experience good no matter what, and help you show what you know. Sadly, this wasn't it. There were long silent periods, and it felt like they were fishing for a specific answer. I wish they'd use Coderpad or something similar, and have a clear coding or whiteboarding challenge so people can show their skills.

- I was asked multiple questions about optimizing SQL, specific to certain DBMS.
- I was asked to write a function that calls an API, and then some open-ended questions about optimizing that process.
