DWS Interview Questions
& Process

First, I sent in my online application. Then, I had to do some online tests, including critical reasoning and numerical tests. After that, I had a video interview where I had to record myself answering 5 questions about the company and my motivation. Finally, there was a full interview day.

First, there was a quick 5-10 minute phone call with HR to talk about my background and what I'm looking for, including salary. Then, a 15-20 minute face-to-face HR interview discussing my experience, the new role, and salary, mainly to see if I'd be a good fit and communicate well. After that, a 4-hour aptitude test, which wasn't programming-related but tested attention to detail, patience, and concentration. For that, it's best to go in well-rested and focused. Finally, a 30-40 minute technical interview with a senior consultant, focusing on my experience and technologies used. They showed me some program examples and asked how to optimize them, and inquired about design patterns I've used and my reasons for choosing them. The whole process took about 2 weeks, and I received an offer letter within that time.

DWS has a structured hiring process. It has 3 main phases. First, a face-to-face interview with the hiring manager, focusing on your experience and salary expectations. They'll ask for a brief overview of your skills and tools to guide you to the next technical interview. Second, a face-to-face technical interview with a senior consultant, which for me was with a senior analytics manager. We talked about technical aspects of the role, design patterns I've used, and upcoming trends and my interest in learning new technologies. It felt like a casual chat, emphasizing today's market trends and my skills. Third, an aptitude test. This was a unique exam that doesn't require specific preparation; it assesses focus, concentration, and instruction-following abilities through an iterative process. If you pass all stages, they'll ask for two references for a background check. It was a positive experience interviewing with DWS; everyone was friendly and open to discussion. I'm currently awaiting an offer letter, hoping to get it soon.

The whole recruitment process was really professional. I had a telephonic conversation followed by a behavioural round. My only concern was though I believe I performed really well and could answer very confidently, I was not called for a peer interview as per process. I have an excellent professional background with Tier-1 consulting firms in the past. I waited for a week and called up the HR consultant who returned my call and told they are not proceeding to second round. I am still interested to take up this role, but was told I cannot apply for next 6 months to an year. I really feel I need to given another chance without being waiting that long.
