Analytics Lead
The process was respectful but took a while. It started with a recruiter screen, then a call with the hiring manager, followed by a take-home assignment, and finally a panel interview. The team seemed good, and they were dealing with some uncertainty due to the recent UberEats acquisition, which is understandable. The recruiter was upfront about the process and mentioned they went with another candidate at the same time, but I would consider reapplying if a suitable role opens up.
- Present a strategy for one of two given options.
- Discuss past work experiences and behavioral aspects.
Product Designer
So this product designer role had quite a bit to it, but it was all laid out really clearly. I went through the interview process in April 2022, and it spanned about five weeks total. James, the talent acquisition partner, was my main point of contact, and he was fantastic! Super responsive and always gave helpful feedback after each stage. The process had several stages. It kicked off with an initial phone conversation, then I was given a blind assessment. After that, I interviewed with the hiring manager, followed by a take-home assignment. The final stage involved four separate interviews with members of the team. And then there were a couple of follow-up calls after that. Definitely expect a good number of behavioral questions, as they're keen to understand your design approach and how you'd fit in with the team. Everyone I spoke with was really open to questions, which I appreciated. All in all, my experience interviewing with Drizly was really positive. The people were great and made the whole thing pretty enjoyable!
- Can you share an experience where you dealt with a "tell me about a time" situation related to design and working with stakeholders?
Software Engineer
The whole process, from getting contacted to the interviews, was chill and easy. The recruiter was nice and quick to respond. In the actual interview, two engineers chatted with me and answered my questions about how they work, how the team is set up, and the company culture. They asked me about a project I did with others, what challenges came up, and what went really well. After I showed them some code I wrote, they answered my questions about what happens next and then were super nice. They said they'll let me know about an offer after they've interviewed everyone else, but I'm feeling good about it.
- Could you explain the API structure you built?
- Tell me about a collaborative project you were a part of.
- What were some of the challenges you faced in that project?
Customer Support Representative
Applied online and got a 30 min phone screen with the recruiter the next day, we talked about my experience. I got a take-home assignment with a Spanish question. A few days later, I had a 30 min video call with the hiring manager, who asked more in-depth questions about my experience in a rapid-fire way. I clarified my client-focused experience was transferable. Then, there was a 2-hour video call with 6 team members, including a 45 min Spanish segment and a live written assignment for the bilingual role. They sent an internal feedback survey before the decision, which felt awkward. A week later, I was rejected because they needed someone with more direct consumer experience, which was frustrating since I had explained my background. They wanted someone trainable, but the pay was low for the work, and holidays are busy with no time off. The process was fast and communication was good, but I'd only recommend it if you have consumer experience, don't mind $20/hr, and can work holidays. It also seemed like a misuse of 6 people's time for a junior role when they're too busy to train.
- How would you handle an upset customer?
- Tell me about your experience supporting clients and how you believe it applies to supporting consumers.
- Can you provide more details about your background?
