I went through a pretty extensive interview process for this role, talking to eight different people, ending with some senior execs. I put a lot of effort into getting ready for each chat, and the interviews themselves were pretty tough and meaningful. They said I'd hear back in a few days, but it's been more than six weeks, and I still haven't gotten any update or closure, which is a bummer after putting in so much work. It felt like a lack of communication, especially since they expected so much from me. It's important to be upfront and follow through, particularly when candidates are dedicating this much time. I really hope the company figures out how to better communicate with candidates, especially those who get deep into the interview cycle.

My interview process had three main stages. First, there was a take-home assessment that took about 3 hours to finish. It involved creating a basic modeling and evaluation pipeline, which included data preprocessing, feature selection, choosing a model, and evaluating it. Next, I had a live interview with two people from the Model Validation team. They asked me questions about different types of regression, SQL, and basic data science concepts. Finally, I interviewed with two team leads who focused more on how well I'd fit into a specific cluster within the team.

I had a bad experience interviewing here. I went through two interviews and the recruiter promised feedback but then ghosted me. I was hopeful about the job, but after following up, I never heard back. It's worse because I took a day off work for the interview, showing I was serious, but I was left hanging. It's disheartening that they lack communication and professionalism. If a company doesn't respect candidates' time and effort, it shows bad values. I hope they change how they treat applicants because I feel let down and undervalued. I wouldn't recommend applying here unless they improve communication.

So, my interviews at DLL were kinda hit or miss. They did ask some stuff related to the job, but then they went into personal questions that had nothing to do with the role, which made me feel weird and like they weren't being professional. Both interviews started late, and nobody even said sorry. When it was time to talk about the results, HR was late again and didn't seem bothered about wasting my time. So yeah, some good things, but the unprofessionalism and the focus on personal stuff really took away from it. My advice to the higher-ups would be to stick to job-related questions and respect people's time. And when you have to reject someone, be understanding and actually show up on time for the call. Also, it's probably better to send a rejection email and ask if they want to discuss it instead of just calling them.

Confirmed questions1 question
  • They asked personal questions and it felt unprofessional. There were also a few technical questions, more at an industry level than what we covered in classes.
