So, there were 5 stages in the interview process, and it took about 8 weeks. It was all remote. Started with a screening call, then technical, then systems design, then a cultural fit chat, and finally a peer interview. Honestly, communication and how long it all took could be way better. Also, the employee engagement and professional standards were a bit lacking. Like, during the technical interview, the interviewer was busy on Slack and not really paying attention. And for the culture fit part, the interviewer was literally eating toast while we talked!

So the interview was in three parts. First, there was an in-person chat with HR and an engineer. We just talked about me, what I'm into, my school stuff, and how I found the job. Then, I talked about some of my personal projects, including my thesis project, and they asked some technical questions about that. The second part was a remote technical interview where I had to code a bit, like reversing a string or making a triangle with asterisks. I did that in my own setup and then answered some general tech questions. The last interview was with the CEO and CTO of the local office, live. They introduced the company and its values, asked me some personal and technical questions, and then gave me a quick office tour. Overall, it felt pretty fair and balanced, not too hard, not too easy. I really liked that they focused on side projects; it was a good way to show what I can do.

Carmela contacted me on LinkedIn about a Mid-Market Account Executive role. We had a screening call, and she was excited to move me forward. Round 1 was with the hiring manager, a discovery call roleplay with feedback, showing they evaluate how well you take coaching. Round 2 and 3 were with a manager from another coast and the Head of Sales. The manager was tough, included curveballs and a cold call roleplay. The Head of Sales started by asking my questions, then talked for 30 minutes, limiting dialogue, so I couldn't fully show my skills. His method felt experimental. Carmela called 2 days later to say I wasn't selected, but she gave specific reasons, which was very personal and helpful for growth. I left a great impression of Carmela and the recruiting team. Although I'm not moving forward, I'm grateful for the experience and hope this helps future applicants.

There were 4 interviews: 1st: People Ops 2nd: Head of SDRs 3rd: Senior Sales Manager 4th: Founder or C/Level. In parallel, as you advance, they ask you to complete a long questionnaire with many personal questions about how you'd fit the culture. I really liked that they took the time to get to know you and asked questions to help you see if it aligns with what you want in life, but at the same time, you can tell they're looking for a person, not just a cog in the machine. They want to verify you know the product, sales, and it's super necessary that you speak fluent English.
