UX Designer
I was asked to look at their products page and come up with ideas for improving the experience on their women's and men's product pages. My performance was evaluated on my presentation skills, technical abilities, research approach, how I prototyped, and my overall design skills.
- What improvements could you have made?
- What would you have done differently?
Communications Head
This was easily one of the worst recruitment experiences I’ve had. Debenhams Group reached out to me for the role, I didn’t apply. The process took about 15 weeks, with several interview rounds, long periods of silence and no clear communication. After all that time, just as I was about to withdraw, I got a short WhatsApp message saying the role was no longer available. It felt careless and unprofessional, especially since they contacted me first. The whole thing showed me a lot about their culture and what they prioritize. I guess I dodged a bullet – if this is how they treat candidates, I can only imagine what it’s like working there.

Product Owner
First there was a call from the recruiter checking my eligibility and documentation. Then I had an initial call with the hiring manager, where I got to ask questions about my product management experience. Finally, there was a face-to-face interview with the hiring manager and someone else, where they asked questions about competency and skill management.
- Could you share your motivations for joining our company?

- Can you describe a situation where you had to manage a stakeholder with opposing views?
Design Manager
I applied for the Design Manager role last year and met with the Head of Design. HR kept calling weekly with status updates, and eventually, top management decided not to offer me the position. I accepted this, and this year I saw a Senior Designer opening and reapplied. I had to do the task again, and HR called today saying my skills are good enough for the Design Manager role and the Senior position is too low for me. It's confusing because last year I didn't get the Design Manager offer, and now they think I'm suitable for it when I applied for a Senior role. It's nonsensical and a waste of time doing tasks and presentations. I also had to spend money to travel from London to Manchester. Boohooman doesn't respect candidates and even asked me to airdrop my portfolio during the interview, making me feel they wanted to copy my work rather than having a genuine opening.
- Would you be able to share details about the factories you currently work with through your present employer?
