First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Debenhams Group.
Buyer
My first telephone interview got rescheduled. Then I had a second in-person interview with the Buying Director and a Buyer. After that, I never heard back from HR, not even after I followed up. It was disappointing because both people I interviewed with seemed to think I was a good fit for the company, even if it wasn't for the exact job I applied for.
- Which companies do you consider to be our competitors?
Assistant Buyer
I had an in-person interview with my director and HR. It lasted about 45 minutes to an hour. I had to give a presentation about why I deserved the promotion and what I could bring to the role. It took a few weeks to hear back about an offer.
- Can you explain the entire process of buying a product range from beginning to end?
Assistant Buyer
It was a quick and easy interview, more like a casual chat about my work history and career goals. They asked if I'd be open to relocating since the company has offices in both London and Manchester.
- What makes you want to work in this role?
