Marketing Operations Specialist
The interview was a 30-minute chat with the hiring manager, and it was all about how deep my operational knowledge goes, not just surface-level tech stuff. We started with intros, then dove right into how I think about processes, project management setup, and how to govern campaign operations. We talked about tools like Monday.com and Jira, but the main thing was less about the tool and more about how clearly I can explain and set up processes within them. A big chunk was about QA stuff, getting approvals for campaigns, running campaigns in different regions, and managing consent between Salesforce and Marketo. We also got into database strategy, what to do with records that can't be marketed to, how abandoned cart emails work, and telling the difference between transactional and promotional messages when regulations are involved. We explored controlling the campaign lifecycle, making sure campaign structures line up, and connecting with GA4. It was clear they're focused on how mature and scalable the operations are, not just bringing in leads. The whole thing felt like a conversation, with scenarios, and it was all about governance, explaining processes clearly, and finding that sweet spot between being flexible and staying compliant in a complicated digital world.
- How would you structure and define what a project management tool must capture from a campaign operations perspective, focusing on the underlying operational framework, rather than just the tool itself?
- He wanted to understand how I think about process articulation, governance, regulatory approval checkpoints, QA layers, and scalability, especially in a complex, multi-region environment where compliance and agility must coexist.
Methods Development Scientist
The interview process was a bit of a drag, mainly because the talent acquisition person/recruiter wasn't great. It seemed promising at first when I got some screening questions a few days after applying online. But then it was just a bunch of unanswered emails and calls. The recruiter seemed to have no clue about the role, as I got an auto-rejection email right when I was supposed to have a virtual interview with the team. The interview went fine, and they told me what was next. After that, though, it was completely silent. I only found out what was happening when I called the recruiter three weeks later, and surprise, I didn't make the cut. Companies need to step up their game; their hiring process is clearly messed up. People put time and effort into applying and preparing for interviews.
- Could you tell us the reasons for your interest in this position?
- Can you tell us a bit about yourself?
Senior Copywriter
I went through five interviews and a confusing, quickly made test project, which took me four weeks. Then, the recruiter gave me a verbal offer that was 10k less than I said I was comfortable with initially. When I countered, the recruiter got annoyed and mentioned it would make him late for his holiday weekend, even though he called me late on the Friday before. I told him I had another offer but was still very interested in this role if the salary could be met. He said he'd check with the hiring manager and HR. Two weeks passed with no word. I called, but he didn't answer or call back. I emailed the hiring manager about the situation, and an hour later, the recruiter called. He said my counter was too high and the best they could do was xx, which was 10k more than the original offer but still 15k below the job description's max range. This 'xx' was my initial number! He mentioned they went with an internal candidate because they were cheaper. I asked if he planned to tell me or just ghost me. He said it wasn't a mistake not to let me know, but he 'guess[ed]' he should have, adding that I 'just seemed interested in that other role.' I was shocked he made the decision for me and didn't inform me, especially since he knew my acceptable offer. He took away my chance to decide by assuming my interest in another role. I was initially impressed with Danaher, but this experience showed me they don't respect the time applicants put in, including the surprise project with a tight deadline.
- Can you describe your process for making sure the content you write is factually accurate?
Senior Electrical Engineer
I had an initial phone call with HR, followed by a Microsoft Teams interview with the hiring manager. After that, an onsite interview was planned. However, they later emailed to say the onsite interview needed to be rescheduled due to some issues. I asked if they'd cover flight tickets for the onsite, and they said I'd have to pay for all expenses upfront and they'd reimburse me. I declined that, and then another HR person called saying the previous info was wrong, and I'd work with a third-party company for flights, but no specific date was given. The third-party company never reached out, and the onsite interview didn't happen.
- What's your approach to dealing with components becoming obsolete?
