The interview process started with a recruiter screen, followed by a 1:1 with the hiring manager. Then there were several 1:1 interviews with a panel. After that, I had another 1:1 with the hiring manager to show my work samples. It felt pretty good, but they ended up looking at other people and I didn't get the job.

It was an easy process. Just bring your resume and be ready for the usual questions. You'll be asked about handling a tough customer and need to have a story for it. Make sure you have some questions to ask them too, like about the difficulties store managers encounter.

I had a standard first interview with the HR recruiter over the phone. Then, two days later, I got an email to schedule the next interview, which was a video call with two Senior Managers. After that interview, they told me I'd hear back within a week. The very next morning, I got an email from the HR recruiter asking if I could meet with the Senior Director the following day. The third interview was pretty short, just a couple more questions and time for me to ask them anything. The Director said I'd hear back within a week. But then it was two weeks later, and I got an email from the HR recruiter saying they went with someone else who was a better fit.

The process moved quickly with a headhunter. The HR person, Mike, was quite technical and detailed the work, project, and tech stack. The tech department has a new leader and is hiring a lot, so they seem concerned about negative reviews. I agree with some negative feedback about the rude treatment, though punctuality wasn't an issue for me. The interview itself was 2 hours remotely. My opinions are personal and reflect the current situation. I encourage candidates to ask about micromanagement and work-life balance if those are important. Since the decision-maker lacks hands-on experience, demonstrating knowledge in older frameworks like IBM or TOGAF could be beneficial. On the plus side, the pay is top-notch.

  • Tell me about something you're particularly proud of.
  • Describe your approach to managing difficult team members.
