Analyst Trainee
The Analyst Trainee interview process at Cognizant involves several steps to check your tech skills, how you solve problems, and how well you communicate. It starts with an online assessment covering aptitude, logic, verbal skills, and some basic tech stuff to see if you can think analytically. If you pass that, you'll have a technical interview where they'll ask about core subjects, programming basics, databases, software fundamentals, and how you approach problems for this role. Lastly, there's an HR interview to gauge your communication, attitude, career plans, eagerness to learn, and if you fit with Cognizant's values and work environment. The whole point is to see if you've got the technical chops and are ready to be a professional Analyst Trainee.

The interview process included a recruiter call, followed by a technical screen, and then an onsite interview. I was asked about how I handle tight deadlines, a time I had to adapt to change, my approach to team problem-solving, explaining technical concepts to non-technical people, and prioritizing tasks for multiple projects. There was also a specific question about the plugin difference between model-driven and canvas apps.

Software Engineer
Started with a recruiter call to check my background and see if I was a good fit. Then, a technical phone screen where I had to do some coding and problem-solving, focusing on data structures and algorithms. The on-site part involved more coding, system design discussions to see how I'd build big systems, and behavioral interviews about my experience, leadership, and how I work in teams. Also had interviews with senior engineers to check how I'd get along with and lead others. Basically, they wanted to see my past experience, teamwork skills, and how much technical stuff I know.
- Tell me about your past experience.
- Describe a time you worked effectively in a team.
- Can you demonstrate your deep technical knowledge?

I was also asked about challenges faced, and then there were questions covering Java basics, Selenium basics, Git, Jenkins, and Jira. Additionally, there were more questions related to manual testing, including types of testing, techniques, STLC, and RTM.
