HR
I had an interview with someone in HR but then didn't hear back for a few weeks. That person left the company. After following up and messaging a few others, I had a second interview. The interviewer sent me a calendar invite, then the day before asked to move the meeting an hour later. I joined the interview and waited for 13 minutes, then was timed out of the Zoom. I emailed the interviewer saying I would log back in and wait for a few minutes but was also open to rescheduling. The interviewer logged in shortly after, with no apologies or acknowledgment of being 15+ minutes late. He talked about the weather and made small talk before asking a few questions and leaving time for me to ask questions. It seemed rushed, as if he wanted the call to end. I then got a new calendar invite showing the time he actually logged in.

Data Engineer
I passed the initial screening for the Data Engineer position in Pau, France. The interview was with a Senior Talent Acquisition Partner from Oslo, Norway. Unfortunately, I decided not to proceed because the conversation's tone felt provocative. I think it's important for interviews to respect the time, not ask repetitive questions about nationality/ethnicity, and be professional. Interviewers shouldn't make personal comments or give unasked-for feedback. Candidates pick up on interviewer reactions, so staying neutral helps create a fair environment. I used my notes during the interview, which I think is fine. The interviewer seemed distracted sometimes, browsing online and not really listening. Their expressions sometimes felt dismissive, making it uncomfortable. I wanted to give this honest feedback about the process.
- Could you introduce yourself and describe the challenges you've encountered as a Data Engineer?
- What aspects of being a Data Engineer do you find most enjoyable?
- Could you tell me about your origin?
Art Director
The process was straightforward, with information consistently shared. I interacted with people from different departments, and there was no overlap in the content discussed. They were also very clear about the job description and expectations. Benefits and other perks were also explained clearly.
- How do you handle feedback from your team or other departments, and how do you use that feedback to improve management and the results of the development team?
Data Scientist
The process started with a phone call with an unprepared interviewer, and I was told the second interviewer might not be able to join. The interview then began with a data science problem in a notebook. The interviewer dictated specific functions to write instead of letting me drive the problem-solving, and the functions didn't seem to solve the problem. The second interviewer joined late, requiring me to repeat information, which was disruptive. I felt the disorganized process hindered my ability to find an adequate solution. When I asked about their Glassdoor rating (3.6), I was met with avoidance and dismissal. Overall, a disappointing experience, especially since I was looking forward to this role.
- Can you identify the anomaly in the dataset?
