The interview process for a cleaner at Choice Hotels usually starts with a phone call, then you have an interview, either in person or online. The hiring manager will ask about your cleaning background, how you pay attention to details, and if you're good at working with others. They might also ask about when you're available, if you can handle physically demanding tasks, and if you know cleaning procedures. Some places might even have you do a practical test to show how you clean.

This company really doesn't care about your time, which is something to note. I went through 4 interview rounds, starting with a phone screen and then meeting with the creative director, a senior designer, and another creative designer. The whole thing took about a month, with interviews happening about a week apart. After the final round, they just ghosted me, as a lot of people have mentioned. No follow-up at all, not even a rejection, but they reposted the job. It's wild.

I interviewed here in December and had very little contact from the recruiter. I sent multiple emails asking for an update but received no response. I had two interviews that went well, but then I didn't hear back for about a month. After the holidays, I followed up respectfully with both the hiring manager and the recruiter, but it took weeks to get a response. Eventually, I got an automated rejection email very late at night. It felt unprofessional and disrespectful, though this seems common now. It makes me question the company's overall operations when they don't treat interviewees with basic human decency or provide sincere feedback.

I got a LinkedIn message from the recruiter, and we set up a call for the next day. The recruiter was super positive and even sent me an email saying it would be a great career move. Then, I had a call with the hiring manager, who seemed really uninterested from the beginning. They claimed their camera wasn't working, but I had mine on, so I was just talking to a black screen for about 30 minutes. The hiring manager spoke in a monotone the entire time, didn't ask any follow-up questions, and made the whole thing feel negative and transactional. It was a terrible experience, and I felt like it was a waste of my time since I was contacted out of the blue.
