First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at China Mobile International.
Intern
Had a simple 15-minute talk with HR. They asked very basic questions about me like self-intro, school projects, past work experience, and how I deal with troubles. Also asked which department I'd like to work in and confirmed that as a part-time intern, I need to work at least 3 days per week.
- What are your strengths and weaknesses?
- What are you good at/bad at?
Management Trainee
We have a strong preference for people who are outgoing. The process has multiple rounds which include games, projects and a presentation. Being less outgoing could be a disadvantage. The interviewers are quite friendly, the process isn't stressful and they offer some guidance.
- What makes you want this job and to join our company?
Graduate Trainee
The process was long and the communication wasn't great, taking about 3 months from application to the final interview. It started with online written tests covering aptitude, email writing, and English. Then there were two interviews: the first with the country head of the department I selected, and the second with the country or regional head, which was the final interview. I went through all the stages and they said they'd get back to me, but then there was radio silence, which was very frustrating. I tried reaching out but got no response. I would have preferred a formal rejection rather than going through the whole process and then being ghosted.
- Can you tell me about your CV and resume?
- What motivates you?
- Do you know anything technical about our company and products?
Business Operations
So after the first screening, we have three more steps: first, an online assessment that includes personality and intellect tests. Then, you'll have an interview with the regional HR manager, which is about 20-30 minutes. Finally, you'll interview with the hiring manager for 30-45 minutes, and then we'll move to the offer stage.
- What makes you interested in working in the telecommunications sector?
