I interviewed with Centric Consulting, and it wasn't great. The interviewer, even though senior, couldn't lead the conversation. The questions felt basic, like for a junior role. The JD highlighted domain knowledge, but only two domain questions were asked, and they felt random, not practical. The interviewer preferred textbook answers over real-world insights. I got 95% of them right, but the feedback was wild. They rejected me for a minor skill not emphasized in the JD, and the feedback on domain questions was totally unfair. It seemed like the interviewer was either not serious about evaluating or didn't know how to assess practical experience. The whole thing felt like a formality, maybe just to show management they were hiring. I suspect they already had someone picked and were just interviewing others as backups. It was a total waste of time. If Centric Consulting isn't serious about candidates, they shouldn't schedule interviews and mislead people. This is bad for HR and the company's reputation. They should really fix their hiring process to be fair and professional.

I submitted my resume and then a recruiter emailed me about setting up a phone call. I ended up following up five times in one week to try and get something scheduled, but I never heard back. If a company ghosts candidates like this, I don't think it's a place I'd want to work for, so I'm passing on this opportunity.

This was a standard, initial phone screen for a Full Time SharePoint Architect position. The recruiter talked about Centric's great benefits, and I was told I'd move to the next round. Then, I got an email saying the job was now an hourly contract role with no benefits or PTO, but a management person replied saying there were bare minimum benefits. They called it a mistake, but it felt like bait and switch. As someone who's been on the hiring side, I don't get how a job can be posted that doesn't exist. I declined to continue interviewing.

The hiring process was pretty smooth. I went through three technical interviews in total, with two interviewers from India and one from the USA. The first technical round covered OOPS, .NET Core, and SQL. For the second round, I was given a use case and asked to create a class diagram, after which I had to discuss applying design best practices. The final round, conducted by someone from the USA, was a thorough technical evaluation, including questions on C#, MVC, JavaScript, jQuery, Angular, and SQL, along with a brief chat about my current project.
