Software Engineer
I had an initial phone screen with HR that seemed to go really well, we actually talked for twice as long as we were supposed to. Then I had an hour-long video call with the hiring manager, which also seemed to go really well. He mentioned the HR person would follow up soon. And then... nothing. I waited over a week and then emailed the HR guy, and still nothing. So, I guess it didn't go as well as I thought? It's fine, I'm an adult and can handle rejection, but I really dislike the silence and lack of feedback. A simple 'sorry, we decided to go with another person' from HR would be much better than being ignored. I still plan to apply for other positions at Carbon Black, but this experience really sucked. They should do better!

Automation Engineer
I got referred and applied. After the initial HR contact, the VMWare-CB recruiter made the whole process really bad. The first interaction was a technical screen, but the invite had no instructions, greetings, or context, just a one-line email with no names. One interview, which was supposed to be behavioral, turned into a deep coding and systems design session, maybe because the manager was new to interviewing and didn't follow the plan. Even though the process was disorganized, I did well in all the interviews. However, the same recruiter called me late in the evening without warning to say the budget for the role was cut, ending my chances. They asked if I'd consider other positions, and I said yes, but they never followed up. I'm very disappointed with the recruiter and the whole process. They even mentioned sending an interview survey, which they forgot, so I'm providing feedback here. CB VMWare's approach won't attract talent.

Site Reliability Engineer
I applied and a recruiter emailed me pretty fast to set up a quick phone screen. After that went well, I had a 30-minute call with the hiring manager where we chatted about the team, the environment, and future company goals. Then I was invited for an onsite with 5 people: the director, some managers, and team members. The interviews seemed good, not super deep technically but more about the environment design and current processes. They also asked a lot about my past experience. It was a bit weird though, one person couldn't make it, and another just didn't show up. They said we could set up time with others early next week, and I was happy to do a video call. I sent a thank you email to both recruiters and mentioned I was still up for talking to the people who missed the meeting. The weekend and the whole next week passed with no response, so I followed up again. A few days later, I sent a final follow-up because I was getting frustrated but still interested. I finally got an email apologizing for the lack of communication, saying they'd offered the job to an internal candidate and were pausing recruitment. They said I had positive feedback and would keep me in mind, but no call, no details. It felt like they were just going through the motions and already had someone in mind, which was a waste of my time.
- Can you tell me about your experience with AWS services?

Sales Development Representative
So I had 3 interviews total. First was a quick 10 min phone call with someone from hiring. Then a 30 min phone call with a Sales Manager. After that, I went onsite for a 1.5 hour interview with 4 different people, one after another. The whole thing took about 2 weeks. Make sure you bring tons of questions, especially about the products. And at the end of every chat, try to close them, like ask if they have any doubts about hiring you. I think I could've done better on that part.
