Content Manager
The interview was straightforward; there was an assigned task I had to complete prior to the interview (which I felt gave me good preparation). The interviewers were friendly and we had a constructive conversation. The only negative comment I have is regarding a lack of feedback following the interview. In the rejection email, the recruiter noted that the applicant can contact them to receive feedback on how they performed on the interview. I requested feedback and it's been over a month later and still haven't received any feedback. It's fine if it's not possible to provide feedback (although it would be appreciated since applicants spend time beforehand on the interview assignment). If it is not possible or reasonable to provide feedback then it would be good practice to not mention this option in the rejection email.
- What do you consider to be the main challenges within the industry?
Professional Learning & Development Specialist
The interview process was great overall, the questions they asked really fit the job description and the conversation just flowed. I felt good the whole time and liked talking with them. But, after the interview, I didn't hear anything about the result even though they said they'd let me know by a certain date. I had to chase them up with an email to get a response. Then, a few days later, I randomly saw that one of the interviewers had reposted the job on LinkedIn. I messaged again asking for feedback and HR told me to just wait for the interviewers to get back to me. I still haven't gotten any feedback. The interview itself was done well and I had a good feeling about it, but the communication after could definitely be better.
- Can you explain how you leverage data to execute a professional development initiative?
Accessibility Advisor
I was given a take-home assignment where I had to do an accessibility audit on a sample of previous work and create a presentation out of it. Then, I had a first-stage interview with a panel of 2 team members to deliver this presentation. We also asked each other questions. The presentation had double the points weighting of the interview questions. The whole process was communicated really well, and the interviewers were super nice and encouraging. They mentioned that they might extend the interview stages based on how candidates performed, but luckily I got an offer after just this first stage.
- What do you know about accessibility regulations?
Senior Programme Manager
The interview process had two stages: first, a 45-minute panel interview with three people that was competency-based. Then, a second 30-minute interview. They clearly explained the process. The first interview was a screen, and if you passed, you'd go to the second interview, which was supposed to include a presentation. But when I got the invite for the second interview, it was only 30 minutes and didn't mention a presentation. During the interview, one of the two panelists unexpectedly asked for the presentation. When I said no request was made, they just brushed it off. The interview felt rushed, and one panelist seemed disengaged and like they were in a hurry. When I tried to ask a question at the end, they cut me off and said time was up. It was concerning that they didn't communicate about the presentation beforehand because it could have put candidates at a disadvantage. Also, not following up or telling me the outcome after two rounds is bad candidate experience. Ghosting people after multiple interviews is unprofessional and a waste of their time.
