PR Assistant
I applied on LinkedIn and then got a call pretty fast from Amy, who was super flexible about my student schedule since I was coming from out of town too. She told me to ask for her when I got there. So I did, 15 mins early, but ended up waiting like 30 mins in this weird, doctor's office-like room with 'Feliz Navidad' blasting non-stop. Lots of people were showing up, all asking for Amy too, but they were being called in by name by different employees, not Amy. Suddenly, I was called back with another person, and I realized it was a group interview, which seemed different from what others were experiencing. The interviewer looked at my resume after a few questions and was like, 'Oh, we don't want students.' I was shocked because my student status is on my LinkedIn, I talked to Amy about it, and it was an entry-level job! He then started pushing internships, which I wasn't interested in. He totally ignored me for the rest of the interview, only talking to the other woman. The whole thing was only 9 minutes, with the last 4 minutes of him bragging about how great his company is. So we barely talked for 2.5 minutes each. At the end, he promised calls by the end of the day about moving forward, but I never heard back, which honestly might be for the best. It was super unprofessional, disappointing, and uncomfortable.

Communications Assistant
I applied on LinkedIn and got a quick email back for a preliminary interview. The first interview was pretty standard, with usual questions and a general overview of the company and job. The next week, I had a second round where they discussed basic marketing principles and explained the job in more detail. I learned they do a lot of door-to-door sales/fundraising for clients, and that all their posted positions are actually the same role, just with different titles and descriptions to sound more appealing. Although the organization seems good, I was put off by their recruitment strategy, wishing they were more upfront about the job duties to save time.

Marketing Assistant
I applied online and got an email back within an hour to interview the next day. I showed up to a small office with 15 other people, which was unexpected. The interview was very fast, only 15 minutes, and I was interviewed with another candidate, which felt competitive. Afterwards, she mentioned they were running 45 minutes behind for her interview. The staff was friendly, and he mentioned receiving 800 applications and interviewing 100 people, with 30 moving to the next round. He said I'd promote a specific charity, but the second interview emails mentioned others.

- What motivated you to apply for this particular job?
Event Coordinator
I applied online and got an email a few days later about an interview. I picked a time and went in for a 5-minute chat. They told me I'd get a call about a second interview if I was selected. About 30 minutes later, I got the call for a second interview the next day at 4:30pm. The next day, I came in for a group interview. After filling out a questionnaire, I think me and another person were offered positions. They are really sneaky recruiters. I applied for an event coordinator job, but they were trying to recruit me as a door-to-door salesperson, which I didn't want, and they weren't upfront about what their company does.
