First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at C-K.
Director
First I had a phone screen with a recruiter, then I had 3 interviews with the hiring manager and two other people. The recruiter told me they were happy with my feedback and would let me know the next steps. I ended up emailing them 3 times and never heard back. Then about 2 months later I got an automated email saying they weren't moving forward with me.
- Can you describe a situation where you had to undertake a task you hadn't done before? What was your response, and what lessons did you take away from it?
Intern
I connected with a team member through a mutual acquaintance initially just to chat about the business and C-K. Near the end, she mentioned they were seeking an intern for the summer and asked if I was interested. She then sent my resume to the department head, and a few weeks later, I got an email to set up an interview. I went in and met with both a senior Account Executive and a VP. In both meetings, we discussed my past experience, my ideas about the department/industry, and what I hoped to gain from the internship. About 5 days after that, I got a call offering me the position.
- If you could pick any account, what would be your dream account?
Account Executive
I had 3 interviews in total. First was a phone call with HR, then an interview with the Account Directors & Supervisors, and finally an interview with Group Account Directors. It was really conversational because they want someone who can actually participate in a discussion, not just agree. They want you to add substance and explain why you'd be a good fit.
- What current campaigns stand out to you?
- Can you share some of your past successes?
- What makes you want to join our company?
Media Supervisor
The interview process was really long. It felt like I was interviewing for a VP position. First, I went through a recruiter and submitted my resume. About a week later, I had three interviews: one with HR and two with media team members. Then, I went back for two more interviews and another phone interview. The interviews themselves weren't difficult, but I met with a lot of people. Interestingly, on my first day, my immediate boss and group director were people I hadn't interviewed with.
