First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Boston Market.
Server
It was a quick process, I got the job. The manager was really funny. They told me about the job, which involves switching between serving, cashier, and drive-thru roles often. The drive-thru needs to be fast-paced. The customers are mainly older people who can sometimes be quite rude and snappy. The pay was also very low.
- Why are you interested in this position?
Sales Associate
After submitting an online application, I received a phone call a few days later. I then went to the restaurant for an interview with the manager. They were good at interviewing and didn't seem to mind that I didn't have any previous work experience. The interview itself was quite nice, but I couldn't accept the position because my home is too far away.
- Could you tell me about your favorite subject in high school?
- What is your availability for work?
Office Services Manager
The interview was mostly about my experience and personality. They wanted to see and hear about specific examples from my background, especially if I had experience with a large company. They also looked for a positive and fun personality, but one that had social/emotional intelligence to make sure it didn't clash with the culture, which is down-to-earth, outcome-based, and focused on getting work done.
- Questions were based off experience
Server/Cashier
The interview process was straightforward. I just needed to show up dressed professionally and I would be hired. Although it's fast food, dressing professionally shows you take the job seriously. The manager focused on specific parts of my resume that interested him. It felt more like a casual conversation than a formal interview, and I felt comfortable answering the questions.
- Can you tell me a little bit about yourself?
