I applied online through LinkedIn, and a recruiter got in touch to set up a call. The recruiter was super positive and covered logistical stuff, plus gave an overview of the company and the role. The whole process involved a two-part take-home assignment about my management and leadership approach, technical discussions with senior and staff engineers, collaborating with a product owner, and answering questions about my leadership, engineering, and people management background. The overall vibe of the process and the team was great.

Behavioral Case Presentation

I interviewed for the Senior Creative Producer role, going through 2.5 stages of interviews with 8 people in total over 4 rounds. The first was a recruiter call, the second a phone call with the department head. The third was a web call with 3 people from the department, and the final interview was in person at their office with 3 department heads. During the process, I did a case study where I had to provide specific artists (photographers, stylists, etc.) from my roster that would be a good fit for Bombas, sending them detailed info on why they'd be suitable and showing previous work that aligned with their brand. The lengthy 2.5 month process was tough, especially when they moved forward with someone else and then ignored all my emails asking for feedback. My advice: share your contacts/roster before you land the job.

Behavioral Technical

So first there was a call with HR (Torrey) to get to know you, see what stands out on your resume and find out why you want the role and this company. Torrey was really nice and upfront about everything. Then, I had a pretty chill chat with the Controller, mostly just going over my resume again. The next part was a 2-hour interview with 4 people, one after the other. That was also pretty informal, and everyone was super friendly. They mostly asked behavioral questions and about my past experience related to the job. The final round was 1 hour with 2 people back to back, kind of the same setup. The whole process was clear, but honestly, it felt a bit too long, like more than 3 rounds is just excessive.

I applied to Bombas for a remote Marketing Manager position. First, I had a screening call with their Talent Acquisition leader, Torrey, who was very positive. Then, I had a 30-minute call with the hiring manager. After that, there were 3 hours of group interviews over Zoom. Some interviewers seemed uninterested, but most interactions were good and the process seemed promising. A couple of weeks after I followed up, I was told the position was filled. They did send me a $30 site credit after the long interview session, but the lack of communication afterward was disappointing given the company's strong mission and culture.
