It was a pretty straightforward interview process at Bombas, which I actually liked. It was quite thorough, involving a writing test, a phone chat, and then two in-person interviews. The first in-person was with a few people, and the final one was with about six executives. Everyone I talked to was really friendly and easy to connect with. No tricky questions or surprises, and I felt like I had plenty of opportunity to talk about what I can do and ask my own questions. And a bonus – I got some socks afterwards!

A recruiter contacted me on LinkedIn, and after I expressed interest, he arranged a phone screen with the Chief Brand Officer within the week. The call went well, and by the end, he indicated he wanted me to visit. That same evening, we scheduled my interview. A week later, I went for an in-person interview with the VP of Digital Product, then the CBO, followed by the VP of People and Head of Culture. The in-person part was really nice, one of the best candidate experiences I've had. It ran longer than expected, everyone was friendly and engaging, and it seemed to focus on both skills and cultural fit. They hinted at more interviews and a writing test. They did ask for patience as I was among the first candidates they were interviewing. A few days later, the recruiter mentioned the writing test, confirming the interview had gone well. The Head of Culture and two other recruiters I hadn't met sent me the test via email with a weekend deadline. I received the full materials late on the due date but still submitted it on time. Things took a turn after the writing test. The recruiter praised it highly. Then, later that week, the recruiter asked if "offer details were right" and if I was "interested in moving forward." Confused, I confirmed my interest. He then told me to wait but that they really liked me. For the next three weeks, the decision date kept getting pushed back. After the fourth week, he stopped responding to my messages. I had to follow up again, and he finally confirmed they were choosing someone else. I wouldn't be surprised if I never got a definitive answer. While I enjoyed interacting with the actual employees, the end of the hiring process was disappointing.
- Can you name some brands you admire?
- What is your definition of branding?

So the interview process was super easy, I liked that. About two weeks after I sent in my resume and cover letter, they gave me an edit test to do over a long weekend. After I sent that back, they set up a quick phone interview. It was just a chill chat about my background and some of the job stuff. Right after that, they wanted me to come in and meet the people I'd be working for directly. They were nice and asked about my history, my work, and why I wanted to join the Hive. The next and final step was meeting 6 other managers, one by one. It seems like a lot, but everyone was really cool. You'll be good as long as you know your job, your skills, and how they fit with what others do. It took a while, but they wanted to make sure it was the right fit for me and them. I always knew what was going on and could ask for updates.
